A driver cited for failure to stop at a red light will be ordered to pay a fine of $83.00.  You will not have points assessed to your Missouri Driving Record for this citation, nor will the citation be reported to your insurance company. However, if you cause an accident by running a red light or if you were speeding, other fines and points will be assessed.  If your careless driving behavior has caused injury to another person, you can also expect to face a civil lawsuit.
